What shape is your recovery?

Here is the latest piece of total drivel from Martin Sorrell who cannot resist commenting on economic recovery without using some sort of pointless shape analogy. When briefly at JWT in the 90s it was one of my colleagues who signed off an email to him “See you shorty” (inadvertently missing out the L), and kickstarted his nickname.

VAINZOOMERS

WTF? It’s not just celebrities. Apparently, thousands of ‘normal’ people want to change their appearance, having seen themselves too much on a computer screen. We’ll have to change the definition of the word vainglorious. Whoever you are, you should all be ashamed.

Lochdown

Lochdown: 1. Scottish lake, plus social distancing. 2. Massive highland party on the water, with everybody 2 metres apart, apparently; vigorous dancing and bagpipes till dawn.

Support bubble

Support bubble: 1. One or two family members you can see during lockdown. 2. Weirdly sci-fi-like term for helpful family members, failing to note that a bubble surrounds you but does not support, and that support will certainly not be provided by a bubble, unless you have expert balance.

POST COVID BULL SPECIAL

More than 20 new pieces of utter lockdown twaddle. Many thanks to all those who have sent ideas in. My favourites include Elephant in the Zoom, Furlough Merlot and Tandemic. Click on the slide to view or download the pdf.
